“40 Years Together Ahead” – that is the title and program of the anniversary event marking the signing of the first gas delivery contract in the year 1968 and 40 years of partnership between OMV and Gazprom.
The event, with over 400 invited VIP guests, took place in the Hofburg, where historically many important contracts between Russia and Austria were signed.
Emcee Ingrid Thurnher was able to great high-level representatives from the management teams from both companies as well as government representatives on the stage. In a film, contemporary witnesses recounted the historical moment of the signing of the contract and provided an impressive look back and as well as forward on the partnership.
This first part was framed by the Vienna Boys Choir with a musical homage to both countries.
After the gala dinner there was a special highlight: Successful partnerships also need a cultural connection. And which art form could be more perfect in the context of Austria – Russia and OMV – Gazprom than ballet?
“Moving Ahead 2gether” – a journey through the highlights of the creations of composers from both countries, the most moving “pas de deux”, danced by soloists of the Viennese State Opera Ballet from Austria and Russia.
The ultimate highlight was star soloist Vladimir Malakhov performing “Voyage”, the piece that made him famous in Austria.
